Our mission at The Education Foundation is to invest in the future of Alachua County Public School students. By donating to The Education Foundation, you can help create an environment that recognizes Alachua County for its excellent public school programs that provide every student with an opportunity to succeed in tomorrow’s world. Whether it be through classroom projects, teacher investments, or scholarships, The Education Foundation of Alachua County will continue to provide new opportunities for students, teachers, and schools.

Investing in the Future of Our Students, Today

Thanks to the support of local individuals and businesses, The Education Foundation of Alachua County has been able to provide 2-year scholarships to over 465 students since it became a Take Stock in Children affiliate in 1996. In 2020, the Foundation awarded $209,500 in scholarships to Alachua County high school seniors through its Senior Scholarship program, all funded by local community members. Additionally, local businesses and individuals helped The Foundation be able to recognize all 1,700 public school teachers in Alachua County for their endless hard work during COVID-related school closures with a gift of appreciation.

With your support, more teachers will be able to actively engage their students; more students will have the opportunity to attend college tours, engage in career exploration, and learn about financial literacy; and more students will have the opportunity to go to college.

Ways to Donate

Donate Directly to The Education Foundation of Alachua County

Sponsor a Scholarship

Sponsoring a Take Stock in Children scholar from induction to graduation costs $5,000. This $5,000 covers the cost of the student’s 2-year Florida Prepaid scholarship as well as the services they receive while enrolled in Take Stock in Children. With your support scholars will have the opportunity to attend college tours, engage in career exploration and learn about financial literacy, all while receiving personalized assistance with college applications and more!

Sponsoring a Senior Scholarship requires a minimum donation of at least $1,050, or donors can establish a fund at The Education Foundation to support students annually. Donors can work with The Education Foundation to create specific requirements for their scholarship. Please contact us to get started!


Purchase a “Support Education” Specialty License Plate

Be part of the driving force to support public education by purchasing the “Support Education” Florida Specialty License Plate. Your support goes directly to fund programs in your local schools that are not supported by tax dollars, such as:

  • Classroom Innovation & Teacher Grants, such as Catalyst for Change Student Scholarships
  • Exact help and Mentoring for At-Risk Students with Take Stock Children
  • Education Enrichment Programs

UF Campaign for Charities

UF Campaigns for Charity

The University of Florida Campaign for Charities (UFCC) is the annual employee giving campaign. All UF employees can participate by making charitable donations through payroll deduction, cash, check, credit card, or stock contribution. Employees of the Alachua County Public Schools can give to The Education Foundation directly through payroll deduction. You can download the payroll deduction form here.


United Way Contributions

If your employer offers payroll deduction donations through the United Way, you can designate The Education Foundation of Alachua County to receive your donation!


The Amazing Give

Each year The Education Foundation participates in the Community Foundation of North Central Florida’s Amazing Give, a 24-hour community-wide day of giving.
